How Photographers Really Spend their Time

Posted on March 24, 2012      by Pixart

I just read a great blog at ISPWP and I am so relieved that I am not the only photographer who isn’t living like a rock star.  Although I don’t shoot weddings, my time parallels the photographers polled in the story.   I spend an enormous amount of time in post-production, coordinating print work and day-to-day dutites.  According to ISPWP, consumers view us as having a great job “working only one day a week” and “travelling to exotic locations”.   The great graphic below breaks down how we actually spend our time – and only 12.2% of it is spent taking photos!  It is great that I love that 12.2% , because I have to confess that I am miserable when I have to do my bookkeeping.
